Bordas stated, “If I had the power, Mbappe would have been a Barcelona player. When PSG paid €222 million for Neymar, we had enough money to sign Mbappe. But the board prioritized Dembele. I wanted to have Mbappe, so I met with his father. Mbappe wanted to come to Barcelona. On the last day of the transfer window, I thought we had him.”
