Forward Kylian Mbappe is said to have made provocative gestures that angered Barcelona players on April 17 (Hanoi time).

After PSG’s victory over Barcelona, tensions escalated at the Olimpic Lluis Companys Stadium. Mundo Deportivo revealed that Mbappe triggered a scuffle in the tunnel by making provocative comments to the Barcelona players in Spanish.

“This is football, and the best thing is to talk on the pitch,” shouted the French player as he descended into the tunnel and entered the Olimpic Lluis Companys dressing room.

Barcelona players were reported to be furious upon hearing Mbappe’s comments. A quick confrontation escalated into a chaotic scene involving over 60 individuals, including players, coaches, and security personnel.

Despite exchanging harsh words and engaging in pushing and shoving, according to Goal, the incident quickly calmed down, with no one being injured or sustaining any physical damage.

Prior to this, Mbappe had also taunted Barcelona fans. He celebrated excessively in front of the home crowd. “The tensions between Mbappe and Barca seem to be the prelude to his move to Real Madrid in the summer,” wrote Marca.

Mbappe’s brace helped PSG sink Barcelona 4-1 in the second leg of the quarterfinals, securing their progress with an aggregate score of 6-4.
