Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire were excellent in Manchester United’s match against Coventry. They both had standout performances and contributed significantly to the team’s success.

Andre Onana: Had a comfortable game and may have needed some time to warm up again after a quiet 70 minutes. Beaten by Ellis Simms but made a good save from Callum O’Hare’s penalty. Rating: 6/10.

Diogo Dalot: He provided an excellent cross for Scott McTominay’s goal and made a brilliant save to deny Simms at the other end. However, his positioning was off when Simms scored. Harry Maguire: The only experienced center-back available and regained his scoring touch with a precise header just before halftime. Continued to perform well and was United’s best player. Casemiro: Due to injuries, he played as a center-back and had a relatively comfortable game. He occasionally made good long passes but was unable to prevent Coventry from gaining control. He missed his penalty. Rating: 5/10.

Scott McTominay: Back in the starting lineup and scored his tenth goal of the season on his first Wembley start under Erik ten Hag. However, he became less influential when Coventry started to attack. Rating: 6/10.

Kobbie Mainoo: Composed performance against lower-tier opposition who didn’t press much. Another memorable Wembley outing after his England debut, but was substituted unnecessarily. Alejandro Garnacho:Missed an early chance but his movement troubled Coventry at times. Substituted for the fifth consecutive game. Rating: 6/10.

Bruno Fernandes: Made smart decisions with the ball, provided the assist for Maguire’s goal from a corner, and came close to scoring himself early in the second half. Extended his scoring streak to four games. In the shootout, he turned the tide in United’s favor. Marcus Rashford:Denied by Bradley Collins twice, with his second effort hitting the woodwork and leading to the corner from which United scored. Faded in the second half. Rating: 5/10.

Rasmus Hojlund:Continued his goal drought in his fifth consecutive start for United. Has noticeably declined since his injury in February. Seemed out of his depth. However, he scored the winning penalty. Rating: 3/10.
