Recently, footage emerged of Mbappe attempting Judo, and his initial shock and laughter revealed a mix of surprise and perhaps a touch of fear at the speed of the takedowns. Alongside his Paris Saint-Germain teammates, including Presnel Kimpembe and Achraf Hakimi, Mbappe had the opportunity to visit The Kodokan, a renowned Judo dojo, during PSG’s tour of Japan in 2022. They had the chance to meet Teddy Riner, a triple Olympic champion and a member of PSG Judo, along with other experienced judokas. The footballers tried their hand at Judo throws and experienced being taken down by throws themselves. While all the players were understandably nervous and excited about trying the sport, Mbappe’s reaction undoubtedly stole the show. It’s safe to say that he will be sticking to football for many years to come.
