LIKE A PALACE: Inside Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney’s £20 million ‘Morrisons house’, which has a full-size football pitch, two fishing lakes, a theater, and pool

WAYNE ROONEY is returning home to England with his family and will live in his £20 million “Morrisons mansion,” which has a full-size football pitch, two fishing lakes, a theater, and a pool.

The Manchester United and England icon has just been named Birmingham City’s next manager, succeeding the sacked John Eustace at St Andrews.

Wayne, Coleen, and the remainder of the Rooney family moved into their dream home in 2021.

Their £20 million Cheshire home was called the ‘Morrisons mansion’ during development.

The property lies on a massive 40 acres of land, with two fishing lakes, a cinema, and pool.

Rooney is reported to have paid over £4 million to a Cheshire property developer to build the gated mansion (!).

While his wife Coleen and their four sons, Kai, Klay, Kit, and Cass, were still in England, he was living in Washington with his coaching staff.

However, after he contracts with the Tom Brady-backed Blues, he will have his family’s full support when he returns to live with them on their magnificent Cheshire home.

Rooney, 37, and Coleen, also 37, are proud owners of a large real estate portfolio that includes homes in Florida, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom.

However, their crowning achievement is a six-bedroom, £20 million mansion on 40 acres of grounds.

The family settled into their brand-new home in December 2021.

High Lake Manor is claimed to be located in Cheshire.

Rooney and his companion might technically refer to themselves as lord and lady of the manor.

We previously reported that United’s all-time top scorer had a full-size football pitch erected on the property, which includes a seating area.

The five-a-side pitch even includes changing rooms with showers for his teammates, albeit he was unable to install floodlights due to his mansion’s remote setting.

He also has a garage for his automobile collection, a cinema, a swimming pool, and two artificial fishing lakes.

Rooney is believed to be an avid angler.

Neighbors have previously mocked the property for its size and style, comparing it to a Morrisons supermarket.

However, unlike Morrisons, it now has an orangery, bar, TV lounge, snooker room, theater, and wine cellar.

The luxurious Rooney pad also has a large indoor swimming pool encircled by a glass pavilion, a hot tub, plunge pool, steam room, and “his” and “hers” changing rooms.

But that’s not all: it has a large terrace, planted grounds, and a luxurious vehicle garage.

Rooney is thought to have spent more over £4 million to a Cheshire property developer to create the home, which also includes a guest toilet and two lifts.

The second lift also connects the main space to the basement floor, which houses a large gym, pool, Jacuzzi, and cinema room.

After intruders tried to break into Rooney’s Cheshire home in 2016 before police arrived, the couple decided to build their dream home.

The former striker grew up in impoverished circumstances in Liverpool, but his large Barbados home, which he rents out for $25,000 per week, demonstrates his real estate expertise.

In 2007, he paid £320,000 for a beachfront apartment in Florida’s Sunshine State and £450,000 for a second house in Liverpool for his parents to live in.

After meeting at the age of 16, he and Coleen, who are reported to be worth more than £115 million, now own properties all over the world.

Rooney rose through the ranks at Everton as a youth and represented England at Euro 2004 before joining Manchester United on a lucrative contract.

Under Sir Alex Ferguson, he won the Champions League and Premier League titles five times.

Rooney broke Sir Bobby Charlton’s record for both Manchester United and England, becoming the club and country’s all-time leading goalscorer, which is presently held by Harry Kane.

He made an emotional comeback to Everton in 2017 and finished the season as their top scorer before leaving to the MLS to join DC United.

The veteran scored 23 goals in 48 games for the American side before returning to England to join Championship club Derby County in the 2020/21 season in a surprise move.

Rooney has been living apart from his family in America while managing DC United.

The mansion includes a swimming pool, a cinema, and a garage for his automobile collection.

The £20 million property was called a ‘Morrisons mansion’ when this photo emerged during development.

Fans remarked it resembled the façade of the supermarket.

The lower floor features a spacious gym, pool, Jacuzzi, and cinema area.
