However, concerns have been raised by animal welfare experts regarding the dog’s appearance and the practice it has undergone. It has been determined that the dog’s ears have been cropped, an illegal procedure in the UK and Ireland under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. While the practice is still legal in some countries, importing dogs with cropped ears is not considered a wrongdoing.

The RSPCA strongly opposes ear cropping, as it is a painful and unnecessary procedure performed for cosmetic purposes. It does not provide any benefit to the dog and can have negative effects on their health, behavior, and overall welfare. The organization urges people not to purchase dogs with cropped ears, as it supports the painful process.

Rashford acquired his puppy from Chaperone K9, a family-run company specializing in personal and family protection dogs. The director of the company clarified that their organization does not perform ear cropping in the UK and highlighted that dogs may be imported from countries where the practice is still legal.

Saint is the latest addition to the Rashford family of dogs, joining Atom and Humber, who were brought to Manchester United with Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to the club.
