According to the Spanish press, Kylian Mbappe is reportedly willing to accept a significant wage reduction when joining Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer. Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire at the end of June, and the French player has previously stated that he will not be signing an extension at Parc des Princes.

After rejecting Real Madrid in 2022, Mbappe is now nearing a historic deal with Santiago Bernabeu, where he will join players such as Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, and Rodrygo. As a result, Los Blancos are considered strong contenders for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League title, with their attacking lineup being regarded as the most dangerous in Europe.

Although Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer, it is believed that he will have to accept a “massive” wage cut to ensure the completion of the deal. According to Spanish outlet AS, the 24-year-old will earn a net annual salary of 15 million Euros, which is reportedly one-third of what he currently earns at PSG. This arrangement seems to have been agreed upon by both Real Madrid and Mbappe.

However, the signing bonus has not been disclosed yet, but Mbappe will reportedly own 80% of his image rights at the Spanish club. Additionally, the French international will benefit from reduced taxes granted by the Spanish government. The “Mbappe Law” will ensure that he only pays 24.5% personal income tax, which is just slightly higher than the rates for workers earning between 12,000 and 18,000 euros per year.
