Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) were held to a 3-3 draw against Le Havre in the 31st round of Ligue 1 due to their complacency. The Parisian club couldn’t secure an early championship title and now awaits the outcome of the Monaco vs. Lyon match later tonight.

Facing the third-placed team in Ligue 1, PSG manager Luis Enrique opted to rest Kylian Mbappe and some key players on the bench in order to preserve their energy for the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Dortmund next week.

At Parc des Princes, PSG had a shaky start as Le Havre took the lead in the 19th minute with a angled shot from Christopher Operi. However, Bradley Barcola equalized for PSG, tapping in a cross from Warren Zaire-Emery to make it 1-1. Towards the end of the first half, Andre Ayew comfortably scored from close range, giving Le Havre a 2-1 lead. The situation worsened for the Parisian club as Abdoulaye Toure successfully converted a penalty, extending Le Havre’s lead to 3-1.

In the second half, Luis Enrique had to bring on attacking stars like Mbappe, Lee Kang In, Randal Kolo Muani, and Goncalo Ramos. As a result, PSG’s attacking play became more impressive. Ramos assisted Achraf Hakimi to score in the 78th minute, narrowing the deficit to 3-2. In the final minutes of injury time, Goncalo Ramos rose high to head home a cross from Lee Kang In, securing a 3-3 draw for PSG.

After 31 matches, PSG accumulated 70 points, leading second-placed Monaco (with one game in hand) by 12 points. If Monaco fails to beat Lyon tonight, the Parisian club will clinch the Ligue 1 title for the 2023-24 season.
