Harry Maguire had a muscular injury in training and will be out for a few weeks. The English international joins Luke Shaw (hamstring), Lisandro Martinez (calf), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Raphael Varane (muscle injury), Victor Lindelof (thigh), and Willy Kambwala (knock) on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag is concerned about the fitness of Jonny Evans, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial. During his pre-match press conference, the Dutchman mentioned Rashford in relation to almost every player.

The Manchester United boss stated, “We have several players with question marks. Rashy, I believe he is a major doubt. I don’t expect him back on Monday right now. Hopefully, he can make the turn, but so can Bruno Fernandes. I regret to report that he is also a major doubt. He’s still fighting for the game on Monday night.”

“The good news is that Jonny Evans has returned to the training pitch, and if the next two days go well, he will be included in the team. I also expect Scott McTominay, who did not train this week, to return to the training field and pitch on Saturday. He then had two training [sessions] before the game against Crystal Palace.”

With Maguire out, Jonny Evans should return to the starting lineup, alongside Casemiro at the heart of Manchester United’s defensive. Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will continue as full-backs, with Andre Onana assuming his normal position between the sticks.

McTominay should be fit enough to play in the middle of the park as a double pivot alongside Kobbie Mainoo. Bruno Fernandes will most likely return to the no. 10 role, with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony serving as wide attackers. Finally, Rasmus Hojlund will lead the away team against Crystal Palace.
