According to sources, BAYERN MUNICH has “made contact with Erik ten Hag’s agent”.
The 54-year-old Dutchman is under intense pressure at Old Trafford and faces dismissal at the conclusion of the season.
However, he might waltz right into another top role, as Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich consider him for their top position.
Ten Hag is already on a three-man shortlist that includes former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui and Benfica’s Roger Schmidt.
However, Sky Sports understands Bayern have “made contact” with Ten Hag’s agent, Kees Vos, to see if he is interested in the move.
No formal conversations have occurred, but the Manchester United manager is thought to be aware of the interest.
It comes after former Red Devils manager Ralf Rangnick turned down Bayern last month to remain as Austria’s head coach.
The German club is looking for a new manager after it was announced that Thomas Tuchel will leave at the conclusion of the season.
Bayern failed to win the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2012, as Bayer Leverkusen cruised to victory.
Tuchel’s side, on the other hand, is in contention for the Champions League title.
Bayern Munich drew 2-2 at home in the first leg of their semi-final match against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
If they reach it, it will be Tuchel’s third Champions League final in four years, following his loss to Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 and victory over Chelsea in 2021.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag’s final game as Manchester United manager might be the FA Cup final on May 25 if he is fired at the end of the season.
He will be out to avenge last season’s 2-1 loss to Manchester City at Wembley.
