‘Stay on your feet’ – Jamie Carragher singles out Man Utd star and fumes over Crystal Palace controversy

Manchester United trailed Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park on Monday night, and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher had had enough of Casemiro after the first 45 minutes.

The Brazilian is having a miserable season at Old Trafford and was once again atrocious in the first half in South London on Monday. The 32-year-old was sat down by Michael Olise for the Eagles’ first goal, which Carragher described as “embarrassing”.

Casemiro was out of position for the game because he had been filling in at centre-back due to Manchester United’s injury problems. Carragher, on the other hand, believes his role in the opening goal had nothing to do with it and has called for the Brazil star to be substituted.

“He is playing out of position tonight, but this is unrelated to that. This could be a holding midfield role. “That is embarrassing; they should take him off,” the analyst stated during Sky Sports’ broadcast of the game.

When questioned if Ten Hag might take Casemiro off due to Man United’s injury problems, Carragher responded: “Nothing could be worse than Casemiro playing centre-back in the second half. Put Wan-Bissaka in the midfield and bring on a full-back.”

Casemiro endured a difficult night at the heart of the defence

Casemiro is poised to quit Manchester United this summer.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe taking over operations at Manchester United this summer, significant changes are expected at Old Trafford. Before signing and selling players, the Ineos CEO must first decide what will happen to Erik ten Hag.

Casemiro will be one of the first names on the transfer list due to his poor season, and tonight’s performance has revealed his flaws once more.

The 32-year-old is past his prime and is no longer able to maintain the greatest level of performance. A move to Saudi Arabia is the most likely possibility for the midfielder, although it remains to be seen whether clubs in the region will make a move this summer.
