United will be hoping to rebound quickly after losing 4-0 at Crystal Palace on Monday night. The pressure is building as they want to surprise Arsenal, who will be looking for a win as the fight for the Premier League crown with Manchester City heats up.

Arsenal are presently one point ahead of City in the rankings, but with Pep Guardiola’s team in play against Fulham early on Saturday, they may be in second position heading into the game versus United. If they win that game, they will move two points ahead of the Gunners.

The return of important players will likely provide a big morale boost for Ten Hag, especially after expressing concerns about the club’s injury crisis ahead to the catastrophic loss to the Eagles. In discussing his team’s unusual injury difficulties, Ten Hag admitted before to the game: “I’ve been managing for over ten years, and I’ve never had this experience.

“So large, so many injury difficulties, so I believe all my experience; it can happen once every ten years. Hopefully, I’ll have to wait another ten years to cope with so many ailments.”

Defenders Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez have also returned to the training ground. Their management is hopeful that they will join the squad before the season ends. Given their recent progress, they could be selected in the team for the match against Arsenal.

Scott McTominay, a midfielder, was ruled out of the Selhurst Park showdown owing to a knee injury. However, the Scottish international was scheduled to return to training on Saturday and might make a comeback against Arsenal after missing out the last time.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is still recovering from an injury sustained during United’s FA Cup semi-final triumph against Coventry City. Despite not returning to training in time for Palace’s preparations, given the club’s current injury issue, Rashford may be back in contention sooner than anticipated.

In other good news for United, Anthony Martial has already returned to training and could play before the season ends. This could be the Frenchman’s final appearance for the Red Devils, since his contract is set to expire.
