‘It’s being discussed’ – Giant club plotting to complete transfer deal of £100M Man United duo after FA Cup Final

Al-Ittihad, the Saudi Arabia Pro League powerhouse, are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes this summer.

Despite United’s troubles this season, Fernandes has managed to produce outstanding results.

In 33 Premier League appearances, the Portugal international has scored 10 goals and assisted seven times. He has 15 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, demonstrating his significant contribution.

Fernandes’ value to United has been even more clear given how much the squad has battled in his absence due to injury in their last two games against Crystal Palace and, more recently, Arsenal.

The Red Devils were overwhelmed in both games, ultimately losing.

It was previously suggested that United’s management, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, would be happy to let practically any United player depart for the right price.

Only Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Rasmus Hojlund are considered untouchable and will not be sold under any circumstances.

Fernandes and Marcus Rashford may both leave if they receive outrageous offers. The captain responded to these rumors in an interview with Portuguese media, insisting that the decision on whether or not to play for United next season does not rest completely on him.

He did, however, state that his current focus is on the 20-time English champions and assisting the team in regaining its performance momentum.

According to The Telegraph, Fernandes is receiving overtures from Saudi Arabia.

This is not the first time that Gulf-based teams have been linked to the 29-year-old playmaker. Al-Hilal’s pursuit of him is well documented.

According to Jason Burt, Al-Ittihad, which currently employs Karim Benzema, Fabinho, and N’Golo Kante, is interested in Fernandes.

The newspaper reports, “There is also a lot of interest in Bruno Fernandes. Although the agreement is considered significantly less likely, it is being explored in the Pro League.”

“Whether Fernandes is one of the players who leave remains to be seen. The United captain also has two years remaining on his contract, with an option for another year, and the 29-year-old would be in high demand if he were available.”

“But that is quite improbable, given that United’s new owners, Ineos, have rapidly concluded that the Portuguese international is still an important member of the club, both as a player and as a leader. His importance has been highlighted by United’s struggles without him.

Burt adds, “Having said that, if United made an amazing offer for Fernandes and he was interested in going, it would have to be examined. There has been past interest in Fernandes from Al-Hilal, who recently won the Pro League, and Ittihad would be interested again if given any encouragement.”

United return to action on Wednesday, hosting Newcastle at Old Trafford. Ten Hag will be hoping to have Fernandes back and available for selection in the vital match that will all but determine which team wins Europa League football via a league finish.
