The teenager has had a difficult few weeks, and he struggled to make an impression in Thursday night’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle United.

Nonetheless, the 19-year-old has had a solid season overall, demonstrating why he deserves a spot in Erik ten Hag’s starting 11. Garnacho has nine goals and five assists in all competitions, and he has played a key role in several crucial matches to help Manchester United win.

Despite a poor start, Garnacho’s first goal in the current Premier League season was memorable, a magnificent overhead kick that propelled United to a 3-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

He scored two goals in United’s last-gasp 3-2 victory over Aston Villa, as well as twice in a 3-0 defeat of West Ham United at Old Trafford.

Garnacho’s assist in Manchester United’s 4-3 FA Cup quarterfinal win over Liverpool in extra time was arguably his most important goal contribution this season. Now, United will face bitter rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final on May 25.

While the Argentine has demonstrated his worth by appearing on the scoring and assist lists, his underlying numbers may be even more amazing.

Garnacho has risen to the top of Opta Analyst’s carrying rankings, which measure a player’s productivity when carrying the ball. This occurs when a player holds possession and transfers the ball five yards or more.

Despite averaging only 19 carries per 90 minutes, Garnacho is the most successful carrier in the Premier League in terms of end product.

Garnacho leads the way in this metric with 46% of his carries resulting in a shot. This demonstrates how good the Argentine is at holding possession and not being dispossessed, outperforming Kevin de Bruyne and Mohamed Salah.

Garnacho is also the Premier League’s leading player in terms of overall chance creation, with 69%. This metric encompasses shots, important passes, and ultimately goals and assists.

Putting that aside, the Argentine has proven to be one of the league’s most prolific attacking players.

Garnacho is ranked 13th overall in offensive contributions, with a rating of 5.07. This metric includes both non-penalty shots and chances created in open play. Garnacho has outperformed several players, including Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Son Heung-Min, and even United captain Bruno Fernandes.

Finally, these statistics demonstrate how productive Garnacho has been this season, continuously pressuring opposing defenses in search of a goal or an assist. While his form has recently dipped, he has unquestionably established himself to be one of United’s best attacking players this season. With the right management, United will have a clinical attacker for the upcoming season.
