Diogo Dalot scores highly for Man Utd against Brighton, but the £21 million star only receives a 4/10 in what is probably his final Premier League game.

Despite the Red Devils clinching a 2-0 triumph, their underwhelming Premier League season culminated in an 8th place finish. Diogo Dalot and Rasmus Hojlund ensured a positive end to Manchester United’s league campaign, as they dispatched Brighton at the Amex.

However, the visitors’ victory papered over the cracks of what had been a dismal domestic term for Erik ten Hag’s side. The Seagulls largely dominated the proceedings and would have romped to victory had their finishing been more clinical. United struggled to gain a foothold and were frequently penned back in their own territory, particularly in the opening 45 minutes.Brighton & Hove Albion 0-2 Manchester United – Red Devils end Premier League season with win against Seagulls - Eurosport

Hojlund’s introduction proved a timely boost for the Red Devils. Not only did the Norwegian’s goal seal the three points, but his combative presence also played a role in Dalot’s opener. Nevertheless, United’s unconvincing display will have done little to ease the concerns of their supporters heading into the FA Cup final showdown with Manchester City.

Ten Hag’s men face a monumental task in upsetting the English champions and salvaging some silverware from an otherwise forgettable league season.

Despite the 2-0 victory, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana (6/10) put in a decent performance, making a couple of good saves to keep his team level.

At right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (5/10) had a bit of a lackadaisical display, as Brighton had plenty of space to work with on that side.

In the center of defence, Casemiro (8/10) swept up really well, making a vital goalline clearance early in the second half. His pass also created the opening goal.

Lisandro Martinez (6/10), making his first start since February, made some key interventions to cut out the dominant hosts, though he was still not at his best in the disorganized team.8,402 Lisandro Martinez Photos & High Res Pictures - Getty Images

Kobbie Mainoo (6/10) put in a lot of effort to drive United forward, but did not have many good passing options or much help around him.

Sofyan Amrabat (4/10) kept getting caught on the ball, giving away possession in important areas and putting more pressure on his team.

Amad Diallo (6/10) was dispossessed a few too many times and lost too many duels, despite putting in a lot of effort to win the ball back.

Alejandro Garnacho (6/10) had a hard time getting time and space on the ball in the first half, but had some bright moments.Keep believing in us' - Alejandro Garnacho sends message to Man Utd fans following dramatic Premier League win over Fulham | Goal.com US

Scott McTominay (4/10) did well to create a dangerous attack, but sent the shot sailing over the bar and wasted another chance in the second half.

Bruno Fernandes (6/10) saw a lot of the ball but couldn’t do much to lift his overwhelmed team before he went off at the hour mark.

Substitute Rasmus Hojlund (8/10) provided a lift for United, his fight for the ball preventing Brighton from clearing it, allowing Casemiro’s pass to go through to Dalot for the first goal. Hojlund then went on a good run and applied a nice finish for the second goal.Udlandets dom: 'De grinte af Højlund' | BT Sport - www.bt.dk

Jonny Evans (6/10) replaced Martinez at the hour mark and looked fine.

Raphael Varane (6/10) did a sound job beside Evans for the last 20 minutes of his final Premier League game for the Red Devils.

Marcus Rashford (5/10) didn’t have much impact on the game after coming off the bench.

Christian Eriksen (6/10) linked well with Hojlund for the second goal after being brought on.

As for manager Erik ten Hag (6/10), his team did not look up for the battle in the beginning, though his changes did have an impact as United secured the 2-0 victory.
