Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag must start Raphael Varane in Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

The Red Devils finished their Premier League season on a strong note, winning back-to-back games, although they were unable to qualify for European football.

The club still has a lot to play for. They can win silverware by defeating City in the FA Cup final. A win would also secure a spot in the Europa League group stage.

In our opinion, Ten Hag should start Varane alongside Lisandro Martinez in the heart of the defense.

Casemiro performed admirably against Brighton & Hove Albion on the road on Sunday. He won six tackles, made five clearances, and stopped as many shots on goal.

Regardless, we would prefer a specialist for the big event. Varane appeared for 28 minutes as a substitute against Brighton. He demonstrated his ball-handling abilities right away.

The star, worth £21 million, completed 100% of his passes and won 100% of his duels. He did not give up possession once and blocked one shot from the opposition.

Varane may not be fit enough to play the entire game at Wembley, but we would love to start him. He will have plenty to prove in his final United outing.

Casemiro should still be in the starting lineup for the Red Devils. Sofyan Amrabat looked out of place against Brighton’s aggressive press and was guilty of losing possession.

Casemiro, like Amrabat, has struggled in such scenarios this season, but Ten Hag should value the Brazilian’s big-game experience with Kobbie Mainoo in midfield.
