Manchester United won 2-0 over Brighton and Hove Albion on the last day of the Premier League season.

The final game of Erik ten Hag’s second season in the English top division ended in a win, but it did nothing to help the Red Devils’ final league table position.

Still, it was good to see Manchester United players and fans happy again at the end of a game. several were more overjoyed than others, with several standout performances on the day.

These include Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, and Andre Onana, but Diogo Dalot was by far the finest player on the pitch.

The Portuguese full-back was, like he has been all season, one of Manchester United’s bright spots on the pitch. He scored the first goal of the game, but he also made a significant contribution at left-back.

His all-around game has improved significantly over the course of the 23/24 season, putting him in contention for the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season Award.

His teammates recognized his contributions against the Seagulls. Dalot took to Instagram and wrote: “Best way to push us to next weekend at Wembley 💪🏻.” It’s always special to score for this club ❤️.

Shaw, when fully fit, is one of Manchester United’s best players. He’s an important component of what makes the team work, which is why his absence this season has been felt so strongly.

Dalot has stepped up to fill this vacuum to the best of his ability and has done an excellent job. Considering it is not his preferred position, the fact that he is still thriving is a testament to the quality talent the Red Devils have on their roster.

Dalot’s ascent has been a pleasant surprise for Manchester United fans in an otherwise bleak season. Long may it continue.
