According to the report, Brazilian legend Rivaldo has advised Casemiro and Antony, two Brazilian players at Manchester United, to leave the Premier League in order to revive their careers. Rivaldo believes Antony, in particular, should leave England and join a club in Spain, Germany or Italy where he can play regularly and aim to return to the Brazilian national team. Regarding Casemiro, Rivaldo said Manchester United is no longer the strong club it used to be and it is unfair for Casemiro to be criticized for the team’s difficulties, suggesting he should return to Spain or move to Italy if he wants to compete at the highest level and make the Brazilian World Cup squad. Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke also commented that Casemiro has been below expectations this season and seems fed up with the club, potentially wanting a new start elsewhere.
Manchester United are currently 8th in the Premier League standings, level on points with 7th placed Newcastle United, and have reached the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25.
