On the evening of May 20th, Kylian Mbappe hosted a lavish farewell party with around 250 guests, but PSG president Al-Khelaifi was notably absent. As the current season draws to a close, it also marks Mbappe’s departure from PSG after 7 years of affiliation. The French forward recently organized a grand event as a farewell gesture to his teammates at PSG throughout the years.
Mbappe rented a private area at Gigi restaurant, an Italian restaurant in the capital city of Paris, and invited 250 guests to attend the party. According to Le Parisien, French President Emmanuel Macron was also invited to the event. However, the French head of state did not attend. Interestingly, among the guests invited by Kylian at this party, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was not included. Fans were even more surprised when Mbappe invited both club staff and management members to the party, but President Al-Khelaifi was not present.
Kylian conveyed his farewell message to all attendees at the party: “Thank you all for coming to the party. I consider everyone here as family, people I cherish. Therefore, I find it easy to share my emotions with everyone.
There is no specific message or profound statement to convey. I also don’t want to say anything deep, simply a heartfelt thank you to everyone. If everyone is here right now, it’s because at some point in the past, we shared some wonderful memories with Mbappe.”
Kylian’s younger brother Ethan will also leave PSG this summer, according to revelations from Fayza Lamari – the mother of these two forwards. She also cryptically revealed that everyone knows where (the two siblings) Mbappe’s next destination is.
