According to confidential information, Manchester United are considering a move for Crystal Palace’s centre-back Marc Guehi, who is valued at £65 million. Guehi is being eyed as an alternative option for the left side of central defense if United cannot secure Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton with an offer in the vicinity of £55 million.
United’s interest in Guehi dates back to last summer, and they have been closely monitoring the 23-year-old England defender’s situation at Palace. While maintaining a strong interest in Branthwaite, United are keeping their options open in case Everton proves reluctant to negotiate the fee. The club is anticipated to recruit two center-backs during this summer transfer window, with Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice and Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham being considered as potential targets for the right side of defense. Todibo is estimated to cost around £40 million, whereas Adarabioyo is available on a free transfer and is drawing interest from Newcastle.
United’s summer budget is limited to just over £35 million in cash. However, the new co-owners, Ineos, anticipate generating significantly more funds by selling some of their star players and are also open to exploring player swap deals.
