David de Gea trains with Manchester United after a year without joining any club.

David de Gea was spotted training in a Manchester United kit once again as he looks for a deal to get him back on the field. The last time De Gea played was in last season’s FA Cup final loss to Manchester City at Wembley. Since then, the 33-year-old has tried to maintain his fitness and form while waiting for the right club. De Gea has shared a number of videos of him practicing vigorously.

Recently, David De Gea shared a photo of himself at Altrincham’s training ground with the caption: “I will be back.” The former Manchester United star once again shared his feelings for the Red Devils.

In recent photos, David De Gea practiced and was spotted wearing Man United’s training outfit. This is not the first time De Gea has done that, the Spanish goalkeeper also did the same last month.

De Gea’s choice of outfit is especially interesting because the British media once speculated that he would quickly return to Old Trafford in the context of goalkeeper Andre Onana having a difficult start at Man United. In the end, there is no reunion contract between Man United and De Gea.

A host of other clubs are also linked with David De Gea. Bayern Munich and Newcastle were previously said to be interested in offering De Gea a contract amid injuries to Manuel Neuer and Nick Pope. More recently, a number of Spanish clubs have been linked with De Gea, including Real Betis. De Gea’s move to Saudi Arabia is also a possibility.

Erik ten Hag gave insight at the start of the season as to why United chose to move on from the Spanish goalkeeper who served 12 years at Old Trafford. Speaking at the time, Man United coach Ten Hag said: “What David De Gea has done for us and Manchester United is huge.

Last season, De Gea contributed greatly to our Premier League Top 4 finish, winning the Carabao Cup and reaching the FA Cup final. So we’re really grateful for what he’s done for us and we have a lot of respect for him.”

“545 matches (De Gea played for Man United), that number is huge,” Ten Hag added, “So many times David De Gea kept clean sheets thanks to his skills and he did great things for Manchester United and we all respect him.

Sometimes as a team, especially at the top, the team moves fluidly, dynamically, and you move in the other direction, and that happens. And when you’re here for 12 years at Manchester United, there comes a period where players come and go.”
