Robert Lewandowski agreed to join Manchester United after a phone call with Sir Alex Ferguson before Borussia Dortmund blocked the transfer, as revealed in an exclusive interview with The Sun Sports. The 35-year-old Polish forward expressed his respect for former coach Jurgen Klopp upon the latter’s departure from Liverpool, reminiscing about their time together at Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 103 goals in 187 appearances. Reflecting on his almost-move to MU in 2012, Lewandowski recalled his conversation with Ferguson and his decision to join the club, only to have Dortmund veto the transfer.
Despite the disappointment, Lewandowski acknowledged Dortmund’s decision and continued his successful career with Bayern Munich and now Barcelona. Bartosz Skwarczek, founder of G2A, praised Lewandowski’s professionalism both on and off the field, highlighting his serious approach to every endeavor.
