Manager Luis Enrique will be striving to clinch this trophy, allowing PSG to secure the domestic double as usual. Their opponents in the final will be Olympique Lyonnais.
After a disastrous summer under John Textor, Lyon have undergone a transformation since the appointment of manager Pierre Sage in December 2023. Since then, they have won 20 out of 25 matches and secured a spot in European competition.
For Luis Enrique, he has achieved the minimum target set for the ‘captains’ of PSG: winning Ligue 1 and reaching the Coup de France final. The Spanish manager will hope to lift this cup to avoid any doubts about his future.
Despite receiving a yellow card in the win over Strasbourg, Alexandre Lacazette’s suspension will be served in the next season. He will still lead Lyon’s attack this weekend.
The only selection dilemma for Lyon comes in the goalkeeping position, as first-choice Anthony Lopes has been preferred in the first two cup matches. However, Lucas Perri has been given the nod in the last three games, and most importantly, he saved Thomas Delaine’s penalty in the Strasbourg shootout in the quarterfinals.
Kylian Mbappe, who is set to join Real Madrid, was absent from the match against Metz. He is believed to have been granted rest and will play his final game for PSG this weekend.
Several other key players – including Gianluigi Donnarumma, Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Ousmane Dembele and Marquinhos – have also returned to the squad. However, Lucas Hernandez (knee injury), Sergio Rico (head injury) and Presnel Kimpembe (Achilles injury) will certainly not be fit in time.
