‘The best’ ‘What a talent!’- Kyle Walker & Alejandro Garnacho blown away by Man Utd star in FA Cup victory

Despite their disappointing Premier League season, Manchester United finished the 2023-24 season on a high note, winning the FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the competition’s final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

First-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo were enough for the Red Devils to win their 13th FA Cup, and Jeremy Doku’s 87th-minute strike came too late as Man United finished the season on a high note.

Mainoo not only scored an important goal, but the 19-year-old was at the heart of it all and was a calm presence throughout the game, demonstrating why he is expected to be in the final England squad for the European Championship this summer after Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate named him to the 33-man provisional roster.

Garnacho was blown away by his performance and took to Instagram to applaud his Manchester United teammate.

Manchester City star Kyle Walker was likewise thrilled by the Red Devils wonder, reacting to his performance after the game.

“What a talent, what a talent,” the defender said when asked about Mainoo.

“The upcoming generation of English footballers is incredibly promising.

“Hopefully he can take his form from breaking into the team this season into the Euros if selected.”

Bruno Fernandes was justifiably named Manchester United’s Player of the Year this season, but Mainoo has been the season’s breakout story.

He began the season injured, but has been a revelation since making his first league start for the Red Devils against Everton in November. He has been generally consistent throughout the season, finishing with five goals and an assist in 32 games across all competitions.

Mainoo now hopes to impress for England at the Euros and help them win their first major championship since 1966.
