Harry Maguire cruelly attacked Leeds United on Instagram after their heartbreaking play-off final.

Southampton’s 1-0 victory over Leeds at Wembley to secure promotion back into the Premier League meant that Leeds would have to spend another year in the Championship.

If the heartache of losing at the last hurdle wasn’t enough for Leeds supporters, England player Maguire then bullied them online.

The center defender used his Instagram story to make a subtle jab at the Yorkshire club.

Maguire said, “I hope everyone is having a fantastic Sunday,” accompanied with a picture of Southampton supporters celebrating their promotion.

Maguire will be fully aware of Leeds and the Red Devils’ long-standing rivalry because he plays for Manchester United.

In addition, Maguire has extra motivation to fan the flames of the long-standing rivalry between the two Yorkshire clubs because he was born and raised in Sheffield and was a player for Sheffield United.

With his antics on Instagram, the 31-year-old appeared to be pleasing supporters of both Manchester United and the Blades.

Man Utd won a trophy in the same venue just a day before Leeds fans experienced agony on the Wembley field.

Erik ten Hag’s team defeated Man City 2-1 and won the FA Cup with an incredible underdog effort.

Regretfully, Maguire was unable to participate in the cup final due to his injury, which prevented him from returning in time.

However, the defender’s only focus going forward will be on getting healthy in time to travel to Germany this summer with England in Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024.
