England manager Gareth Southgate has revealed that he will not hesitate to start Kobbie Mainoo at Euro 2024.

Mainoo, who had a breakout season for Manchester United, was picked to England’s starting lineup for the last warm-up game against Iceland at home on Friday.

Despite the fact that Mainoo is only 19 years old and making his third appearance for England, Southgate claimed that he is in contention to start against Serbia on June 16.

Southgate told Channel 4: ‘We wouldn’t hesitate to start him. He’s shown amazing maturity, and he moves the ball quickly. He made two fantastic appearances here in March.’

As Southgate mentioned, Mainoo impressed in his first two appearances for England against Brazil and Belgium in March.
