Manchester United are apparently considering a transfer for Joshua Zirkzee.
The Bologna striker starred in Serie A last season, scoring 11 goals in 34 games.
Zirkzee, 23, has only been at the northern Italian club since 2022, after leaving Bayern Munich.
He has since established himself in Thiago Motta’s starting lineup, helping the team finish in Champions League contention.
He scored 11 goals and assisted on four in Serie A.
According to Sky Sports, Zirkzee’s performances have generated enough attention from Manchester United.
Following Antony Martial’s departure, the Red Devils hope to add more firepower to their roster this summer.
Zirkzee has a little better record in Italy than Rasmus Hojlund, who moved to Old Trafford for £72 million last summer.
The Dutchman scored one more goal than Hojlund and had the same number of assists in the same number of games.
However, due to his £34 million release clause, Zirkzee will cost far less than the Danish striker.
Man United will not have a clear shot at the highly regarded attacker this summer.
Arsenal, AC Milan, and Bayern Munich have all been linked with an interest in him.
The Gunners are also looking to acquire a new striker this summer and are reportedly offering Zirkzee a £115,000-per-week contract.
According to reports in Italy, the footballer has signed a contract until 2029.
