Man Utd has delivered a clear message to Everton in their recent talks regarding Jarrad Branthwaite’s transfer.

Manchester United’s initial bid for Jarrad Branthwaite has been turned down, and they are unlikely to make a higher offer unless Everton lowers their asking price for the defender.

United conveyed to Everton that they cannot afford to spend £70 million on any single player this summer, following discussions regarding Branthwaite’s potential transfer. Despite United’s interest in the promising defender, Everton is hesitant to sell after his impressive breakthrough season and values him at £70 million.Jarrad Branthwaite - Manchestedr United Transfer Target 2024 - Insane Skills & Tackles | HD

ESPN’s latest report sheds further light on the situation, indicating United’s firm stance that they lack the financial means to meet Everton’s valuation. Previous speculation suggested United might return with an improved bid, but now it appears they are prepared to wait unless Everton signals willingness to negotiate.LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - MAY 11: Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton during the Premier League match between Everton FC and Sheffield United at Goodison Park on May 11, 2024 in Liverpool, England. United has warned Everton that they will explore alternative targets if Branthwaite’s price tag isn’t reduced. Besides pursuing a central defender, United aims to recruit a forward to ease scoring responsibilities on Rasmus Hojlund, as well as a defensive midfielder. However, with a limited £50 million transfer budget, United anticipates needing to generate additional funds through player sales. Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho have drawn interest and could command substantial fees, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos open to serious offers for most of the club’s players.
