Liverpool has hinted at the release of the first interview featuring Arne Slot, the new head coach.
The Dutchman replaced Jurgen Klopp, who departed at the end of the previous season after nine fruitful years with the team, as the Reds’ new manager with official confirmation in May.
Slot leaves Feyenoord to sign a contract with Liverpool that is reportedly for three years. Since he formally started his new position on July 1, supporters have been eager for a glimpse of the 45-year-old wearing club attire.
And Liverpool has at last provided the public with what they have been pleading for: an early look at his first interview, which is scheduled to be made public on Wednesday afternoon.
In the short film, Slot is seen sitting for the interview before an unknown voice asks. “Are you prepared?” Before the video ends, the Dutch coach gives a positive response.
For the first time, Arne Slot, the incoming manager of Liverpool, has been seen wearing Liverpool gear.
The renowned former manager of the team, Jurgen Klopp, departed at the end of the previous campaign, and the Dutchman took over.
Slot found out who his first opponent would be when the 2024–25 Premier League schedule was revealed on Tuesday.
The Reds’ first round opponents on opening weekend are newly promoted Ipswich Town; they then visit Brentford, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth at home. He will play Manchester United and his countryman Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford during that run.
The inaugural Merseyside Derby for Slot is slated for early December. November sees Liverpool take on Manchester City for the first time, and three of their final five games of the season are against Tottenham, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
The manager will hold a crucial pre-season to try and get his philosophy and ideas across before the league season starts. Up until July 14, the European Championship and Copa America have not made his move to Merseyside any easier.
For the first time since 2019, the Reds are visiting the United States for their preseason tour. On July 27, they will play matches against Arsenal, United, and Real Betis.
