Kylian Mbappe has debuted a new protective mask ahead of France’s upcoming clash against Belgium in EURO 2024. The match is scheduled for July 1st at Merkur Spiel-Arena in Germany.
During a recent training session with Les Bleus, Mbappe showcased his new mask, which reportedly fits more snugly to his face compared to the previous one. Journalists noted that the new mask features minimized gaps around his eyes, an opening on the forehead, and utilizes a single strap instead of the previous two. According to reports from L’Equipe, this new design significantly enhances Mbappe’s comfort and helps him avoid the restricted vision issues associated with his previous mask.
Mbappe had been seen practicing without a mask during training sessions following France’s draw against Poland, indicating a notable improvement in his condition. The French captain had initially sustained a nose injury during France’s 1-0 victory over Austria in the EURO 2024 group stage opener, which caused him to miss the subsequent match against the Netherlands. He made his return in the draw against Poland, scoring a penalty goal, marking his first goal of EURO 2024.
