Gakpo and Malen shine to bring Netherlands into EURO 2024 quarter-finals

Cody Gakpo and Donyell Malen both shined to help the Netherlands beat Romania 3-0 in the round of 16, thereby advancing straight to the quarter-finals of EURO 2024.

The Netherlands have qualified for the quarter-finals of EURO 2024 after a convincing 3-0 win over Romania in the round of 16 at the Allianz Stadium.

Cody Gakpo and Donyell Malen both shined to bring victory to the “Orange Hurricane.”

Gakpo was the one who broke the balance with an unstoppable shot in the 20th minute, opening the score 1-0 for the Netherlands.

In the 83rd minute, the Liverpool star played the role of creator, dribbling and making a favorable pass for Donyell Malen to double the gap.

As time entered injury time (90+3), Donyell Malen ended the perfect night for the Netherlands with a goal to make it 3-0 after a quick counter-attack.

Going straight to the quarter-finals, coach Ronald Koeman and his team will face the winner of the match between Austria and Türkiye.
