Ethan Mbappe, younger brother of superstar Kylian Mbappe, has signed with Lille after departing Paris Saint-Germain.

Following Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid as a free agent this summer, it was expected that Ethan would also leave PSG. Lille emerged as a top contender for the 17-year-old midfielder’s signature, and the Ligue 1 club has now officially announced the successful deal.

Lille confirmed that the young French talent has signed a three-year contract with the club until the summer of 2027. This marks Ethan’s first professional contract; previously, he had only played for PSG’s youth teams and made five appearances for the senior squad. According to Lille’s official statement, Ethan will wear the number 29 shirt in his first season away from Parc des Princes.

Speaking to the club’s media after signing the contract, Ethan said: “I am very happy to join LOSC. I am looking forward to starting this new adventure, meeting new teammates, coaches, and fans. At my age, staying in France is the best choice for my development. I believe LOSC is the best project. It’s one of the strongest clubs in France. I am proud to play here.”

During his time at PSG, Ethan was often in the shadow of his talented older brother. With his move to a new destination, the 17-year-old player hopes to step out of that shadow and carve out his own name in the football world.
