Less than a day after it was announced that the former midfielder for Liverpool, Thiago Alcantara, is being approached about playing football again.
The trophy-filled playing career of the 33-year-old, who departed Liverpool at the end of the previous season, came to an end on Monday night when he made an official declaration.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s report on Sunday, Thiago was about to end his career.
Thiago posted the following on Instagram: “I am thankful for the time, I have enjoyed it, and I will always be willing to give back what I have been given.”
“I’m grateful to football and everyone who supported me and helped me become a better player and person along the way.”
Thiago joined Barcelona as a junior player and started his senior career there. Before joining Liverpool, he previously played at Bayern Munich. Furthermore, he participated in 46 matches for Spain from 2011 to 2021.
Sport reports that Thiago is keen to rejoin Barcelona as a member of Hansi Flick’s coaching staff.

According to the report, Thiago is inclined to accept the offer since he is excited to start his coaching career.
Thiago won four La Liga championships, the Copa Del Rey, and the Champions League while he was a member of Barcelona.
He made 100 appearances for the team between 2009 and 2013, scoring 10 goals.
If Thiago accepts the coaching offer, Barcelona may find him to be a valuable addition given his past with the team and his understanding of the game.
