Following England’s stunning Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain, fans on social media expressed the same issue.
Mikel Oyarzabal scored a thrilling victory after Cole Palmer cancelled out Nico Williams’ opening goal.
Oyarzabal scored from close range in the 86th minute, giving England little time to respond for the second time.
Four minutes of extra time were added, but supporters online complained about the lack of play after 90 minutes.
Match referee Francois Letexier whistled for a couple of fouls with Spain players wasting time, much to the chagrin of England fans.
A user on X complained: “When 4 minutes extra time are awarded, 4 minutes should be played, not time wasting for 3 minutes by the Spanish and sideshow bob diving all over the place.”
A second tweet read: “Not a minute of extra time has been played there, by the way!”
Another participant asked: “Also how do you spend 3 and half minutes of extra time just chilling on the floor and not get a further time.”
A fourth participant responded: “4 mins extra time, one min of football played in it the rest they are rolling around.”
A fifth charge was brought up: “Multiple fouls in extra time yet he blew before the 94th minute, sh*t ref.”
