Just one day after a grand celebration for the Spanish national team, Madrid residents had another memorable event to witness: the unveiling of Kylian Mbappe in the colors of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu stadium. After years of pursuit, the Spanish royal club has finally secured the signature of the French forward.

According to the club’s official website, the unveiling ceremony will take place at noon on July 16th (local time), which translates to around 17:00 in Vietnam. Club president Florentino Perez will personally welcome the French star, who will sign a five-year contract with the “White Vultures”. Following the fanfare, Mbappe will hold his first press conference as a Real Madrid player.

Media reports from Spain indicate that this event has garnered immense interest among fans of the Spanish royal club. Real Madrid has made a significant gesture by offering free tickets to watch Mbappe’s unveiling to the public. Over 100,000 fans registered for tickets, surpassing the stadium’s capacity. Consequently, the club had to distribute tickets based on priority, giving preference to season ticket holders and half-season ticket holders who registered first. Each person was limited to a maximum of four tickets, with remaining tickets distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Despite these efforts, reports suggest many fans were unable to secure tickets. According to Goal, black market prices for a good seat at Mbappe’s unveiling ceremony reached up to 200 euros, surpassing the cost of attending a regular Real Madrid match. It’s estimated that approximately 85,000 spectators attended the event at the Bernabeu, a turnout comparable to Cristiano Ronaldo’s unveiling in 2009.

Additionally, Mbappe’s jersey has sparked a frenzy among fans. The French forward will wear the number 9 jersey for Real Madrid in his first season, echoing the iconic status of Ronaldo.
