After French giants arrange a private plane, Mason Greenwood lands in Marseille to finalize his £30M Man Utd transfer

MASON GREENWOOD has arrived in France after Marseille leased a private jet to finalize his transfer.

Greenwood, 22, is preparing to conclude his Manchester United exit, which might be worth more than £30 million.

Marseille have reached an agreement in principle to sign Greenwood from Man United

The forward flew in a private plane from Manchester to seal the deal.

The one-cap England forward will cost Ligue 1 club Marseille an initial £27 million plus £3.2 million in add-ons. United also has a 50% sell-on clause incorporated in the package.

SunSport understands Greenwood boarded a private aircraft arranged by Marseille tonight. That jet took off from Manchester Airport at 8.22pm and landed in Marseille about 11:00pm local time.

And, barring any last-minute complications, the attacker will complete his move to Roberto de Zerbi’s club.

Greenwood entered United’s development academy in Halifax, West Yorkshire, at the age of six. He worked his way up the ranks, making his senior debut in 2019 and eventually becoming a first-team regular.

However, Greenwood was suspended by the club in January 2022 before being accused nine months later with attempted rаpe, viоlence, and controlling and coercive behavior towards a woman. He rejected the claims, and all criminal charges were subsequently dismissed in February 2023.

Meanwhile, Greenwood will not have to wait long to return to England, and specifically to his hometown. Greenwood, who was born in Bradford, could play for Marseille in a friendly against Sunderland on August 3 at League Two club Bradford City’s Valley Parade.
