Marcus Rashford, 26, the renowned Manchester United footballer, has been handed a six-month driving ban and a £1,666 fine after being caught speeding at 104mph in his £560,000 Rolls-Royce on the M60 motorway. The incident, where Rashford was clocked by an undercover police car, led to his admission of guilt through a streamlined legal process. During the hearing at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court, Rashford, appearing via videolink, claimed he accelerated because he felt he was being followed by the white BMW patrol car behind him. Despite the officer’s attempts, including reaching speeds of 104mph, Rashford managed to exit the motorway before the emergency lights were activated.
This incident occurred shortly after a previous incident involving Rashford and another Rolls-Royce, where fortunately, no injuries were sustained.
