Kylian Mbappe is set to join his new Real Madrid teammates in receiving a cutting-edge BMW as part of the club’s benefits for the upcoming season. The French star was officially introduced as the latest Galactico earlier this month, ending years of speculation about a move to the Spanish giants.
With the prestige of playing for the world’s most renowned football club, Mbappe’s profile is expected to soar, leading to new endorsement opportunities and the chance to compete for top honors in the sport. An added perk for members of Los Blancos is a brand-new electric BMW, thanks to the club’s three-year partnership with the German car manufacturer.
This arrangement mirrors Bayern Munich’s deal with Audi, where each first-team player, coach Carlo Ancelotti, and even club president Florentino Perez receive a new vehicle at the start of each season.
According to Marca, Mbappe will be given the i7 M70 xDrive. This model features dual engines—489 hp at the rear and 258 hp at the front—allowing it to reach speeds of up to 250 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Priced at over £164,000, the i7 M70 xDrive ensures Mbappe will fit right in with his teammates, many of whom are also expected to receive similar high-end models. In fact, Perez already drives the same vehicle.
The full range of BMW models for Madrid’s current roster hasn’t been disclosed yet, but players were visibly excited when they received their new cars for the 2023–24 season in October. The lineup includes various models: the BMW i4, i7, the SUV iX, and the XM.
The more budget-friendly option, the i4 eDrive35, costs around £50,000, while the priciest model, the plug-in hybrid XM, exceeds £150,000. Marca reports that eight players, including Jude Bellingham, Thibaut Courtois, and Rodrygo, chose the XM. Vinicius Jnr and Aurelien Tchouameni, along with manager Ancelotti, opted for the more affordable i4, with Ancelotti praising it as ‘spectacular.’
Veteran players Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, along with defender Antonio Rudiger, selected the iX SUV. Kroos, who retired from football last season, will miss his annual BMW dealership visit this year.
Mbappe, who is still awaiting his driver’s license, might spend his time in the Spanish capital enjoying the car’s impressive amenities. The i7 M70 xDrive includes a massive 31.3-inch ceiling screen, climate control, heated seats, massage functions, and rear privacy curtains, making it a luxurious choice for the French superstar.
